Many of the mutual funds are sold like commodities now.  People often select the fund based on the fancy names, rather than looking at the theme, investment objective etc. to check whether they suit their risk apetite.

New Funds are often considered as less expensive by looking at the face value of the fund, by many investors.

The disclosure will mean nothing for most of the investors who seldom read the prospectus in full, however a clear disclosure of the facts will be useful for investors to decide on the fund.
